The application Naturvielfalt is a portal for recording flora, fauna and fungi in Switzerland and the bordering regions, which allows you to record animals, plants, mosses, lichens and fungi in a straightforward manner, in the form of individual observations in the field. The database contains already 44,000 species, more than 9,400 of them are illustrated. Record your own observations and add optionally GPS-based position data, information about the number of findings, photos as evidence and comments. You can draw areas as points, lines or polygons and compile inventories. Set up a free user account at the corrresponding website www.naturvielfalt.ch and transfer the data you have recorded on your iPhone or iPad to the platform, edit them subsequently or add additional values. The observations and inventories can be exported from the platform as an Excel table, and the areas can be exported as Shapefiles for further use in GIS. In just a few steps, you can transfer your data from the platform to Switzerlands data centres (InfoSpecies).
